Appeal court upholds 48 mln rbl additional taxes for Roshen plant

MOSCOW, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- The 19th Arbitration Court of Appeal has upheld a decision of a lower court to oblige the Lipetsk confectionary plant of Roshen, controlled by former Ukrainian President Pyotr Proshenko, to pay more than 48 million rubles of additional fines and taxes, as seen by PRIME in the register of arbitration cases on Friday.

The additional taxes and fines were imposed after the Federal Tax Service’s inspection of taxes paid by Roshen for 2014. The company filed a suit against the additional taxes, but the Arbitration Court of the Lipetsk Region sided with the tax service.

Previously, the tax service imposed 361.5 million rubles of additional taxes and fines on the company for 2012. The plant filed a suit against the taxes, but courts of three lower instances sided with the tax service, and the company had to file an appeal to Russia’s Supreme Court over the matter.
